Footnotes
WILD STEEL was allowed to settle into stride from the break and went unhurried through the clubhouse turn, advanced steadily down the backstretch and was within striking distance approaching the far turn, went four wide through that turn while making forward progress all the way, hit the stretch even up with TAPS MISTRESS then battled the foe head-to-head down the lane keeping a head in front to the wire. TAPS MISTRESS pressed DEPTHS OF DIXIE through the early stages, wrested the lead away from that one near the quarter pole then had plenty left to battle with WILD STEEL for nearly the length of the stretch, was super game on the inside and fully extended to the wire but came up a hair short in the end in a super effort. SHY ANN was always close up, was three to four wide throughout, chased the top pair down the stretch, was slowly gaining but ran out of time. SHAKE THOSE DICE broke awkwardly and was slow to get going, lagged at the rear of the field then made a steady advance up the rail down the backstretch, continued to save ground through the far turn then came three wide and finished best of the rest of the field while far behind the top three. COWGIRL DREAM raced evenly throughout. MAKIN A BEELINE steadied at the break when bothered by SHAKE THOSE DICE, started well behind the field, saved ground to the far turn, finished mildly under pressure. SCHOOL TEACHER took a bump from SHERRYS RIDGE the break then rebounded into SHAKE THOSE DICE, settled mid-pack along the inside then tipped out to the three path through the far turn, then bid five wide into the stretch, exchanged a couple of light bumps with a rival in upper stretch and finished evenly. THOUSAND ANGELS managed to avoid all the trouble to the inside at the start but lacked any early speed dropped to last, trailed to the stretch then kept to task and passed a few late. KNOTTY KITTY bumped lightly with DELTA DELICIOUS then was pushed to get forward position, vied three wide on the first turn for the lead, dropped off the pace through the turn and had little to offer in the stretch. DELTA DELICIOUS bumped with KNOTTY KITTY at the start then swerved to the outside to avoid the loose horse before the turn, regained contact with the field then ducked out heading into the turn, raced four to five wide the rest of the way and lacked a rally. DEPTHS OF DIXIE broke out at the start and bumped SHAKE THOSE DICE into the path of the next horse, was still quickest away the gate and won the race to the first turn with a pair of rivals contesting the early positions clear of the rest, set the pace to the far turn then started to weaken midway through the turn and staged a steady retreat through the stretch. SHERRYS RIDGE broke in at the start, bumped with SCHOOL TEACHER then stumbled and lost the rider, was caught by the outrider after the finish and walked off.
