Footnotes
EMPIRE'S BEST came away well and went to the front, led the field to the stretch then opened up when set down and went unchallenged to the wire. PRINCE RAMA trailed the field racing on the rail through the early stages but never far from the front, cut the corner into the stretch and kept to task and got up for second in the final yards. BANDERA AZTECA broke best but ceded the lead to EMPIRE'S BEST, stalked that rival to the turn then was unable to match strides passing the quarter pole, kept on under a drive but was passed late for the place. IMPERIAL HORNET was being coaxed early to stay close but was caught four wide, came under a ride three furlongs from the finish but could not improve.
