MIKEL W easily made the lead without being asked, led the way under some pressure from RECKLESS RED, was being confidently ridden approaching the stretch then responded when set down and drew away under a mild hand ride. VINO TEXAS JESS was having to be ridden to keep up early, settled into a good rhythm behind the main pack, came three wide into the stretch and got a seam to run through at the three-sixteenths then finished with good energy to get up for the place. RECKLESS RED pressed MIKEL W two wide to the quarter pole, then was unable to go with that rival in the stretch, kept to task but was caught for the place in the final yards. LUCKY PROMISE got away well, raced close up on the inside, finished willingly up the rail in the stretch but was not good enough. GHOST COWBOY broke out at the start and bothered HE IS HEAVEN SENT then was outrun through the early stages, launched a sustained bid from the seven-sixteenths pole and picked up a couple of tiring rivals after the issue had been decided. HE IS HEAVEN SENT steadied at the start when GHOST COWBOY came into the path then was devoid of early speed, trailed well behind down the backstretch, made a belated run up the rail in the stretch to improve position. OZZIES WINGS Y G hustled from the break but was not quick enough to contest the early pace, raced in the middle of the pack to the top of the stretch then weakened under pressure. ROCKETS RED FLAIR was close up four wide to the turn, made a forward move late on that turn but went flat in upper stretch and was not a factor in the late stages. BUBBA'S RECKLESS had head turned and got hung up on the gate as the field was dispatched, broke far behind the rest and chased throughout. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE START. AFTER A REVIEW IT WAS DETERMINED THAT #10 BUBBA'S RECKLESS WAS GIVEN A FAIR START AND THE POOR START WAS SELF-CAUSED THEREFORE NO ACTION WAS DEEMED NECESSARY.
