LEGENDARY LORE raced close up four wide on the clubhouse turn, stalked the pace three wide under a light hold, loomed between horses three wide at the quarter pole, turned into the stretch with the led and finished well under steady handgun and intermittent urging to prevail. DEANOS CAPE settled mid-pack on the rail, moved up to sit just behind the five horses bidding for the lead past the quarter pole, was blocked in uppers stretch but got free inside the sixteenth pole, surged but was too late. LEVY got good forward position on the first turn, moved out to the four path for clear run down the backstretch, bid four wide at the quarter pole, was kept to task but outkicked by the top pair in the final yards. CATHOLIC GUILT had good speed from the break and made the lead on the first turn, took a short lead into the far turn with a pair of pursuers close behind, had challengers stacked up five deep a the quarter pole, then kept on well to mid-stretch but was outfinished. UNITED PATRIOT broke well and vied inside for the early lead, ceded to CATHOLIC GUILT turning on to the backstretch but kept the pressure on from the inside, cut the corner into the stretch and was roused to take advantage of an opening but did not respond and finished evenly. SHAMAYIM was near the back through the early stages, stayed on the inside through the far turn, came under a stiff ride with three furlongs to run but could not find the winning late kick. SPECIAL MOMENT went mid-pack and four to five wide down the backstretch, launched a bid before the three furlong pole, came five wide into the stretch then went flat and finished evenly late. PLAYBOY STYLE was not asked for speed and was last and three wide through the early stage, improved a couple of places when asked to quicken near the half-mile marker but had little to offer late. COOL MEMORY raced mid-pack and three to four wide for the first half-mile, had trouble keeping pace through the turn and chased from well back through the stretch. HAMAZING WISDOM went four wide through the first turn, dropped to last before the half, came five wide into the stretch but did not mount a rally.
