GUS CAUSE took some light contact after the start, settled at the back, then made a four-wide bid into the stretch and produced a powerful finish, battled a relentless foe in the final yards and came up on the good end of the photo finish. SHANGHAI CUPID settled in the two path, well behind the pace, finished strong under steady handling, took a brief lead in deep stretch but was nailed in the last jump. GOLDEN PURSUIT broke well but did not pursue the early leader, settled two-wide in the front-tracking group to the far turn, bid for the lead three-wide at the quarter pole, briefly went clear in the stretch but would be outkicked by the top two in the final yards. LOOK NO MO was off slowly, moved up three wide in pursuit of a forward position, loomed with a big chance in upper stretch, but was outkicked in the late stages. FAIR WEATHER FLYER settled at the rear then made a belated rally in the stretch. HANK RIDGE saved ground racing in mid-pack to the stretch, failed to change leads properly and faltered. TRANSOM BAY tracked the runaway leader along the rail, moved up to take over the lead late on the far turn, then weakened in mid-stretch. CAHILL'S LEGACY flew away from the gate to a big early lead, was overtaken on the far turn, and had nothing left for the stretch run.
