WHATA MOON broke on top but ceded the front to TERRA BELLA while keeping up the pressure on that one to the outside, took the lead in upper stretch, drew clear, and held off a fast closing rival in the final yards. LOTTERY TICKET off a step slow, moved up the rail into the body of the pack, steadied off heels before the half-mile pole, continued to advance through the turn, came out three-wide at the top of the stretch, and finished strong, but could not get to the winner. SALTWATER TAFFY settled three-wide not far from the front, loomed a threat in upper stretch, finished willingly, but was not doing enough to threaten the top two. TERRA BELLA broke well and jumped out to the early lead, was under constant pressure from WHATA MOON to the outside and others in close attendance, battled gamely when confronted approaching the stretch, then weakened in the final furlong. AMADORA'S EMPIRE outpaced early, made a forward move on the turn, swung five-wide into the stretch and finished up well, but was not quite doing enough in the later stages. FLASH MASTER broke well, tracked in cover through the turn, dropped out before the quarter pole, then tired in deep stretch. COLORMECAIRO chased the field four-wide to the turn, came under pressure near the quarter pole, then was outrun through the stretch.
