SWEET KARAT CAKE seized the lead on the first turn then proceeded to slow the pace down, led the field through slow fractions to the far turn, quickened on cue at a the three-sixteenths pole, drifted out to the middle of the track but had something left in the tank and won clear under steady urging. UTSIRA showed good speed from the start, went three wide down the backstretch the moved to challenge SWEET KARAT CAKE heading into the turn, could not get past that rival despite several challenges but kept on well under steady handling and urging to save the place. PANTHERA broke outward at the start, then was caught four wide through the first turn, settled mid-pack down the backstretch, remained out wide on the far turn while making acid for the lead, finished well under steady handling but was outkicked late. MAYAPRETTY settled inside not far off the pace, could not keep up through the far turn when the pace quickened but came back on up the rail in the stretch under constant urging. CHATON ROUGE settled at the back of the field early, tried to rally three wide on the far turn but was unable to make an impact. WALKSONWATER raced close up inside to the half-mile pole then was outrun in the late stages.
