Footnotes
GOLLY HOLLY stumbled at the start then was gathered up and allowed to settle into stride, advanced steadily towards the leaders down the backstretch then bid three wide at the quarter pole, took command and drew away in the late stages. EXPECT A PATRIOT broke sharply and went to the front, joined by A THOUSAND SAILS then was allowed to slow the pace into the turn, led the field into the stretch, finished well under steady handling and urging but could not go with the winner in the end. A THOUSAND SAILS broke sharply and briefly dueled with EXPECT A PATRIOT before opting to stalk, left that foe to slow down the pace, made a challenge for the lead passing the quarter pole but was rebuffed and finished evenly to hold the third spot. DIXIE'S HEART was unprepared for the start and last to break away, was coaxed down the backstretch to regain contact with the field, came under pressure before the stretch but was unable to find the needed response. SHERRYS RIDGE settled back off the pace then was last before the turn, chased the field to the stretch while saving ground but had little to offer in the drive.
