Footnotes
COASTAL BRINK settled two deep with the tracking pair then was sent after the leaders with three furlongs to run, bid three wide into the stretch, finished well under strong handling and was up in time. NEWS AT NINE came away well and was three wide early, stalked the dueling leaders to the far turn, then loomed three wide at the head of the stretch, battled an ultra-game EXCAPING THE BLUES down the stretch, edged clear late but was passed in the shadow of the wire. EXCAPING THE BLUES was hustled from the break and secured the rail and a share of the lead turning on to the main course, was being shadowed by MO SATURDAYS and stalked by NEWS AT NINE throughout the early stages, cut the corner into the stretch and dueled with the latter foe then gave way grudgingly in the final yards. GOOD SWIMMER went unhurried from the start, launched a three wide bid on the far turn and finished up well under steady urging but came up short. COURAGEOUSLY settled two wide near the back of the pack through the early stages, advanced on the far turn then bid up the rail and produced an even finish. MOON CAT raced two to three wide, settled in the middle of the tracking group through the early stages, bid three wide into the stretch and finished up with some late energy but was much too late. TWENTY ONE SKIDOO raced near the pack of the pack two to three wide to the far turn, improved position with some belated interest while not posing a serious threat. SARGE'S SERMON settled inside, was boxed in some on the far turn, finished with some interest but lacked a serious bid and was unable to improve. MO SATURDAYS stalked the early pace to the far turn, bid for the lead passing the quarter pole then faltered with a furlong to run and dropped through the field. MY CALANTE was far behind early, showed little and chased throughout. NOBLE EAGLE tracked inside at the head of the second flight then started to fade midway on the far turn and had nothing left for the stretch run.
