SPECIAL CALIBER stalked the pace outside of the leader, bid at the half-mile pole, dueled briefly, drew off in early stretch and was kept to mild urging. PAGODE stalked the pace in the four path, bid on the far turn, vied outside of the leaders, then couldn't match strides with the winner. CANISIUS trailed in the two path, bid on the far turn and gained the show late. TREW VIOLENCE led in the two path and gave way in early stretch. UP TO NO GOOD saved ground to no avail. VIA DEL CORSO was not a factor.
