Footnotes
UTAH BEACH pursued from midpack two wide and between horses, progressed into the final bend to track along the inside turning for home, took aim outside of the clear leader in upper stretch, ranged up to bid in the final furlong, forged a narrow advantage at the sixteenth pole and clung on from his inner game counterpart. LIMITED LIABILITY brushed with an outer rival at the start, laid off of the pace two wide, shifted out and offered a premature four wide advance with a mile to go, claimed an advantage and showed the way along the inside around the second turn, shook free entering the lane, but was headed by an outer rival at the sixteenth pole, fought on gamely but was denied regaining even terms. ANGLOPHILE brushed with an inner foe at the start, laid off of the pace three to two wide, came under urging four wide around the final turn, moved out to the five to six path in upper stretch, rallied to vie for minor placings in the final furlong, took contact from an outer rival at the sixteenth pole, yet sustained his charge thereafter and closed in on the top pair belatedly. REBEL RED (GB) settled well back along the inside, moved out around the final turn before, floated out to the nine path in upper stretch, rallied while hanging on his left lead, drifted inwardly and brushed a rival at the sixteenth pole, then sustained progress to gain fourth. VERSTAPPEN tracked in the three path, ranged up four wide around the final bend to be within striking range entering the lane, but flattened out leaving midstretch and gave way late. GRAND SONATA saved ground in pursuit, moved between rivals turning for home, shifted out to the five to six path in upper stretch, encountered traffic while among rivals at the furlong grounds, then kept on willingly. OLE CRAZY BONE tracked along the inside, then from further back around the second turn, progressed again two wide around the final turn, then chased evenly through the lane. MISSED THE CUT pursued from midpack in the four path, took closer order approaching the wire for the first turn, stalked outside of the top pair around the second turn, but yielded between horses turning for home. BALNIKHOV (IRE) raced at rear along the inside, shifted out to the six path into the lane, moved inwardly and failed to menace. IDRATHERBEBLESSED set the pace along the inside, got headed by an early bidder passing the wire for the first time, pressed two wide around the second and third turn, but spun to the three path into the lane and weakened between horses. DEAN MARTINI pressed two wide leaving the first turn, stalked along the inside around the second turn, then weakened around the final bend. STARTING OVER broke a step slow, raced at the rear in the three path before progressing approaching the second turn, but faded between rivals around the final turn.
