Footnotes
MERLIN MONROAN tracked from the two path, chased in the four path in upper stretch, tipped to the five path then flopped back to his left lead while taking aim outside of the clear leader leaving the furlong grounds, rallied with gradual progress to bid in the final sixteenth and edged past in the final jumps. ADMIRAL'S ORDER pressed two wide, vied in the four path into the lane, forged an advantage then inched clear leaving upper stretch, but got collared by an outer bidder in the final sixteenth and was bested late. TOLSTOY stalked along the inside, ran on in the three path and between horses into the final furlong to take aim inside of the leader, but needed more late. BATTLEFIELD HERO set the pace along the inside, got headed by an outer presser in upper stretch and faded. CHASING THE SON trailed along the inside and got outrun.
