LUCKY GEM broke well then angled quickly to the rail putting the runners in the outer stalls in a bit tight, set all the pace, widened into the stretch and went unchallenged to the wire. TAKE IT TO COURT away all the settled along the rail, tracked well behind the leading pair, could make no headway on the winner but kept to task through the stretch and won the race for the place. FRISEE was last into the first turn then trailed far back as the field headed down the backstretch, started to improve under a ride on the turn and finished up well but could not get past TAKE IT TO COURT for second. ALESSANDE steadied shortly after the start when LUCKY GEM cut across the path, tracked in the two path, lost ground down the backstretch and was pretty much done after a half. PERFECT DIXIE LADY pressed two wide through the early stages, could not match strides with LUCKY GEM when that one went on, weakened then was eased to the wire.
