Footnotes
INCREDIBLE SHOT was three wide in the tracking group, broke away leaving the three furlong pole and went after NONCHALANT on the lead, went three wide into the turn, drifted out under left-handed urging in deep stretch, made contact with BEN DREAMING and got the best bob of the head in a blanket finish. BEN DREAMING was content to track three deep through the early stages then took up and dropped back near the three furlong pole, came back on in the stretch under steady urging, was floated wide and bumped by INCREDIBLE SHOT in deep stretch. GORILLA TREK got the inside position in the tracking group going into the first turn steadied early on the backstretch run then bided time to the far turn, continued on the inside then put in a good finish through the stretch to just miss. NONCHALANT had good speed from the break, cleared the field and got to the rail into the first turn, was left to dictate moderate fractions to the far turn, then fought back when INCREDIBLE SHOT made a bid leaving the five-sixteenths pole but was outkicked in the stretch. SUMMER LOVER went four wide on the first turn and raced close up down the backstretch, started to trail off after passing the half-mile pole and was not a factor in the late stages. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN AND ALSO THE JOCKEY ON #2 BEN DREAMING LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #3 INCREDIBLE SHOT ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH. AFTER A REVEW THE OBJECTION WAS UPHELD AND #3 INCREDIBLE SHOT DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SECOND.
