Footnotes
SO JACKSANN was three deep in the early pace battle, put a head in front at the seven-sixteenths marker, then turned back a challenge from NEW WOMAN in upper stretch and held clear under strong handling. NEW WOMAN broke well then contested the early pace five wide, bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, gamely chased SO JACKSANN in upper stretch but was outkicked in the final furlong. LILLY MAE chased the pack from behind down the backstretch, started to run on from the three-furlong pole, bid three wide into the stretch, and finished up well to gain the third prize while slowly closing the margin on the winner. FINE BY DESIGN was four wide in the early pace scramble, surrendered before the quarter pole, kept on well but was outfinished for a minor award. ITTY BITTY BABY broke well then briefly contested the pace on the rail, dropped back after passing the half-mile pole, saved ground and kept on to an even finish in the stretch. SUPER STORMY was outpaced from the start and trailed throughout. RAILEY JEAN was up with the pace in the initial stages, pulled up at the half-mile pole, came to a stop at between the quarter and three-sixteenths poles, was vetted and given a ride off the track in the equine ambulance.
