Footnotes
STORMY MIDNIGHT showed speed, hugged the inner rail, disputed the pace until inside the sixteenth pole then drew clear. JUST THE THING stalked the early pace, advanced three deep to challenge for the lead near the five sixteenths pole, dueled until late and flattened out. BOND'S BELLE , bumped by KAPATUDE leaving the starting gate, was rated along the rail down the backstretch, eased off the rail leaving the turn, angled four wide in upper stretch and rallied mildly. KAPATUDE bore in bumping BOND'S BELLE at the start, rated back mid way down the backstretch and was not a factor. CHAMPAGNE DANCE circled the turn three wide, floated to the four path turning for home and gave way. DORIS' SLAYING IT showed speed outside the winner and gave way entering the stretch.
