HITTHEROADJAK prompted the pace outside ASSUME NOTHING, put his head in front near the five sixteenths pole, pulled away and was under encouragement the final furlong. ASSUME NOTHING made the early lead, remained near the inner rail setting the pace, was overtaken entering the stretch and finished well to be clear of the rest. CROSSLAND , a forward factor in the two path around the turn, lacked a rally in an even effort. ST. JUDE lacked speed, had a mild, three deep move midway on the turn then weakened through the stretch. FAN CLUB , a forward factor along the inner rail on the backstretch, dropped back. IRISH EXIT stumbled badly at the start then trailed. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning IRISH EXIT at the start but no action was taken.
