Footnotes
LOST RIVER broke well and was taken to the two path about a furlong after the start, stayed slightly off the rail around the turn, and was kept under pressure in the drive. HAPPY HOUR JOKER , snugtly rated along the inner rail on the turn, eased out to the two path at the head of the stretch then gamely chased the winner. LASS SASSENACH , a forward factor between horses around the turn, was in striking position in upper stretch then weakened. MARMARIS , checked when pinched back leaving the starting gate, rated behind horses on the turn, found room along the inner rail in the stretch and flattened out. SCHOLAR , bumped and forced in by REHOBOTH AVENUE leaving the starting gate, was outrun and swung to the six path in upper stretch. REHOBOTH AVENUE bumped SCHOLAR leaving the starting gate, chased the pace three deep to the stretch then gave way.
