Footnotes
WAR MASTER settled off the dueling leaders while well off the rail, edged up four wide into the turn, pounced three deep past the five sixteenths, took over into the lane, kicked away under strong asking in mid stretch then held firm while kept alert. CORINGA edged up early then was patiently handled along the inside stalking the duelers, was maneuvered off the inside leaving the five sixteenths, straightened to be about four wide into the lane, gave willing chased through the final furlong and was clearly best of the rest. THREE CAPTAINS , between rivals early, was rated back off the lead nearing the five eighths then settled three deep, was under pressure pursuing mid turn, angled out to about the five path in upper stretch, lacked a serious response but did manage to edge SWIFTY DEVIL for the show. SWIFTY DEVIL pulled his way four wide outside runners in the opening furlong then dropped down to emerge in a duel outside MAGIC EXPRESS, sparred on a short lead into the turn and past the three eighths, fought on between runners past the five sixteenths then faded in the final furlong. MAGIC EXPRESS bobbled at the break, quickly recovered and was nudged up to a short lead, secured the inside then was headed by an outer SWIFTY DEVIL near the five furlong pole, dueled, battled on under pressure as the winner ranged up three deep, failed to kick on leaving the furlong grounds and weakened. LADDIE DANCE flashed speed between foes then was rated back off the pace, checked when in close into the turn, dropped back, angled out to circle five wide then lacked a stretch response.
