DIAMOND N DRESS rolled well clear near the seven eighths then dropped towards the inner rail, dug in when joined by IXCHEL near the three eighths, dueled on a short lead past the three sixteenths, shook back clear soon past the furlong grounds and held sway under a drive. IXCHEL rated off the winner around the first turn and angled out, crept closer leaving the five eighths, drew alongside with about three furlongs remaining, battled on near even terms entering the lane, failed to match strides leaving mid stretch and gave way grudgingly. YAU MAJESTY appeared to lightly brush the outer portion of her stall, dropped off the pace while saving ground, was coaxed along through the backstretch run but failed to drum up a response.
