FIRMANTOWN impeded ITALIANO KID when bearing out leaving the starting gate, sprinted to the early lead and was taken to the inner rail entering the turn, remained along the rail and was under brisk urging in the drive. SEVERN RUN bumped ITALIANO KID when coming in at the break, was carried out by FIRMANTOWN soon after the start, chased three wide on the turn and flattened out. PRETTY JIMMY raced in the two path on the turn, angled three wide entering the stretch and passed a tired rival. FORTHELOVEOFRUN , eased off the inner rail near the half mile pole, chased the pace and weakened. CASEY N PAP raced in the two path on the turn and gave way. ITALIANO KID bobbled when bumped by SEVERN RUN at the break, was checked when pinched back by FIRMANTOWN soon after the start then trailed. Following a stewards' inquiry and objections by the riders of SEVERN RUN and ITALIANO KID, FIRMANTOWN was disqualified and placed sixth.
