Footnotes
MAGICAL MONDAYS , three wide the first turn, was confidently rated outside horses down the backstretch, entered the far turn three wide, eased out leaving the bend, was fanned seven wide in upper stretch, closed smartly, led late and drove clear. NOTHINGBUTBLUESKY , angled in entering the first turn, rated behind horses down the backstretch, moved off the rail to the three path approaching the stretch, gained the lead in mid stretch and gave way grudgingly. PIETRELCINA stayed along the inner rail down the backstretch and around the far turn, was in hand waiting for room in upper stretch then split horses near the sixteenth pole. RADIANT TONES , four wide entering the first turn, stayed outside horses down the backstretch, floated four deep leaving the far turn, had aim on the lead and flattened out. SILK SUIT , bumped and carried wide by REGENCY TALE entering the first turn, prompted the pace outside that one, bid for the lead entering the stetch and weakened late. REGENCY TALE bumped SILK SUIT when bearing out mid way on the first turn, set the pace near the inner rail and weakened the final furlong. FALCON BLUE stayed along the inner rail stalking the pace down the backstretch and around the far turn then failed to rally. BASIC MILES , kept outside horses down the backstretch, was no factor. CHRISTMAS SPIRIT was outrun.
