STARMETAL broke slowly, was patiently handled down the backstretch, circled the far turn four deep, floated to the five path when taking the lead in mid stretch and drew away. ALL FRUITS RIPE , a forward factor along the inner rail down the backstretch, eased out to the three path in upper stretch, bid for the lead in mid stretch and continued gamely. PLENTY ON TAP broke slowly, raced three wide the first turn, worked between horses the far turn, lacked room in upper stretch then split horses late with a nice rally. GORDITO , between horses down the backstretch, was well positioned in the three path turning for home and finished evenly. RED SEA , rank much of the opening half mile, advanced three deep to challenge for the lead leaving the far turn and weakened in the drive. WICKHAM LANE lacked speed, raced inside horses on the backstretch, swung wide in upper stretch and failed to menace. LONG STRAW , four deep the far turn, lacked a rally. MY FRIEND LOU raced along the inner rail the first turn and was not a factor. STARK COUNTY hugged the inner setting a pressured pace and gave way. SEVEN'S GOOD prompted the pace and faltered.
