PROTON , unruly behind the starting gate, was rank entering the first turn, stalked the pace outside horses, circled the far turn three wide, took the lead and went clear in mid stretch and was kept under urging in the drive. JUTLAND stayed along the inner rail in a forward position down the backstretch and on the far turn, was in hand waiting for room approaching the stretch, found an opening along the inner rail in the drive and closed gamely. PARKES circled the far turn three wide, floated to the four path in upper stretch and rallied. MAJESTIC BLUE , rank entering the first turn, chased the pace outside BLLUE SUEDE HOOVES, drifted out slightly in mid stretch and weakened. BLUE FORTY TWO lacked speed, swung wide in mid stretch and passed tired horses. BLUE SUEDE HOOVES , taken to the inner rail when going clear approaching the first turn, remained along the rail setting the pace, drifted out in upper stretch and gave way. SUNRISE raced in mid pack and steadied in tight quarters between PARKES and MAJESTIC BLUE near the three sixteenths pole. GREEN LIGHT DAY , steadied shortly after the break, stayed along the inner rail the far turn and stretch but failed to fire. S S QUALITY , pinched back after a slow start, trailed. An objection by the rider of SUNRISE against MAJEST BLUE for alleged interference in the stretch was not allowed.
