Footnotes
COCKTAILS AT NOON , unhurried down the backstretch, began a five deep rally on the far turn, continued to close outside DEUTERONOMY in the stretch run and was up in time. DEUTERONOMY stalked the pace along the inner rail down the backstretch, moved to the two path on the far turn, eased out to the three path in upper stretch, gained a short lead approaching the sixteenth pole and gave way grudgingly. GOOD AS HE GETS , three wide the first turn, chased the pace two wide around the far turn and lacked the necessary late effort. ETERNAL MISCHIEF worked between horses on the backstretch and around the far turn, angled out near the sixteenth pole and showed a mild gain. ELON sprinted to the early lead, set the pace along the rail to mid stretch and tired. KNOCKANARA , rated behind horses down the backstretch, worked between rivals in the stretch and showed late interest. JASIEL , five wide the far turn, was outrun. THIRTY WEST four wide on the far turn, weakened. UNCLE GREY was outrun. CHANNEL KING chased the pace to the far turn and faltered.
