Footnotes
HE'S ON FIRE , patiently rated stalking the pace along the inner rail and to the inside of a rival, steadied briefly leaving the three eighths, worked through an inside seam soon into the stretch, wrested command near the three sixteenths, kicked clear under a drive and held firm while kept alert. SOUTHERN DISTRICT stalked outside a rival, was under pressure mid turn, ranged up and bid three deep to a brief lead in upper stretch, could not kick on with the winner heading to mid stretch, gave way grudgingly and saved the place. FORMAL ORDER broke a step slow, lagged off the pace while wide, shifted five wide for the drive and closed steadily. GAMBLING TZAR saved ground, was under a ride mid turn, angled four wide for the drive, closed to the inside of FORMAL ORDER but was edged for show. HELMS DEEP cleared early, set the pace two wide, was hooked from both sides soon into the stretch and weakened past the three sixteenths. ALIFEROUS settled off the inside, displayed awkward action leaving the far turn, was pulled up past the three eighths, examined and walked off.
