CODE OF SILENCE , off slowly, raced well back early while urged along off the inside, gathered some momentum mid turn then shifted out seven wide in upper stretch, sustained a grinding run under right handed asks, put a head in front outside a pair of foes in deep stretch, drifted in slightly and prevailed. G Q WORTHY , off the pace and under a hustling ride leaving the far turn, edged up two to three wide between runners nearing the lane, shifted out to about the five path leaving mid stretch, knifed his way through, closed gamely inside runners and just missed. TARTABULL , pinched back at the break, regrouped and settled three to four wide outside runners, gained under asking nearing the lane, angled to about the six path in upper stretch, closed in a under a drive to join embattled inner foes, gained a narrow advantage leaving the sixteenth pole then gave way grudgingly while in tight between foes at the wire. SOMETIME had speed to lead early, was headed from the inside then stayed on to contest the pace, battled between horses from the three eighths to upper stretch, vied inside BIG BOLTON leaving the furlong grounds, could not quite go with the outer top three then gave way grudgingly. BIG BOLTON had speed then rated three wide outside the leaders, bid three deep near the three eighths, sparred on near even terms from upper stretch to mid stretch then faded late. WORKER BEE rushed up inside and gained a short lead near the five eighths, was hounded by an outer pair from the three eighths to upper stretch, stayed willingly to mid stretch then weakened. OUR DAY WILL COME , urged along off the inside, came up empty. HELL OFA HILLBILLY checked when in tight between rivals early, saved ground with a mild run nearing mid stretch and faded. JIGGER broke outward, gave some early chase and faltered leaving the far turn. The trainer of TARTABULL lodged an objection against the winner alleging interference nearing the wire.
