Non-winners of a Grade I stakes at a mile or over in 2025 allowed 3 lbs. Preference by graded stakes earnings. Maximum of 14 starters. The Haskell Stakes has been selected as one of the Breeders' Cup Win and You're In Challenge Races. The nominated winner of the Haskell Stakes will be entitled to automatic entry into the 2025 running of the Breeders' Cup Classic Championship race and will be entitled to have pre-entry and entries fees waived for the Championship race and receive a trav el award if shipping from a base located outside the State of California. JOURNALISM bobbled slightly and was off a half step slow, then settled nicely off the pace, moved up three wide at the half mile marker, advanced three wide on the far turn, came four wide into the lane, rallied steadily in the middle of the track, surged in deep stretch was up in the final yards for the win. GOSGER bobbled a bit at the break, then was bumped after the start, raced two wide off the pace, bid three wide on the far turn, dueled, led into the stretch, dueled with GOAL ORIENTED in the stretch run, dug in gamely between horses in deep stretch and got second. GOAL ORIENTED stalked close up two wide, tracked the pace, bid two wide entering the far turn, briefly took over, dueled into the stretch, dug in gamely on the rail in the stretch drive and continued willingly to the finish. BRACKET BUSTER vied inside early, then tracked close up on the inside, chased on the far turn, came two wide into the lane and weakened. BURNHAM SQUARE was outrun early, advanced two wide on the far turn, came three wide into the lane and failed to rally. NATIONAL LAW bumped after the start, pulled a bit in the early stages, raced off the pace inside, chased on the far turn and tired. KENTUCKY OUTLAW was off slowly and steadied, raced three wide early, moved up to contest the pace, took over entering the backside, dueled on the far turn and faded. WILDNCRAZYNIGHT raced off the pace inside, then chased inside and gave way on the far turn.
