Footnotes
FINE BY DESIGN broke on top, contested the pace three wide up the backstretch, shook clear through the turn, came out a bit turning for home, continued to drift out through the lane while maintaining a comfortable advantage. AIR CASTLE in the second flight while racing outside, moved closest to the winner in the three to four path turning for home, could do little more with that one through the lane, clearly second best. TEXAS SEQUOIA lacked early foot, raced four wide through the turn, finished up best of the rest. KAVA broke out to help bother TACTICAL EXPRESS then was in bumped in tight, raced in the two in the rear flight, in some traffic late in the turn, moved out entering the stretch and improved position. QUEEN WILHELMINA came out early to bother a couple of outer rivals, was straightened to race back off the pace, saved ground through the turn, switched out when straightened for home and also improved position with some mild interest. TACTICAL EXPRESS jostled at the break then was in tight, raced back early as a result, three to four wide when advancing out of the turn, flattened out in the final furlong. ATHELAS went one paced while three wide, lacked a closing response. COSMIC CHIC bumped at the start, raced in the two path turn and tired. SMOKE SHOW GIRL vied up front early along the inside, ,fell back into the turn, moved out to the two path for the run through the bend, had nothing left for the stretch run. THIS DAMSEL MAYFLY narrowly showed the way up the backstretch while between horses, chased the winner through the turn then gave way.
