HESS close up in the second flight while between horses, in traffic through the second bend, waited for room turning for home, split foes upper stretch, came in still looking for some clear room past the furlong marker closing a hole up partially but not completely for AARON who checked up, continued toward the inside and challenged the leader late, narrowly gained the nod at the wire. BIG DRINKER angled in when back off the pace to save a little ground early in the first turn, tracked the leaders from the outside up the backstretch, advanced on the outside and challenged four wide into the stretch, lugged in a bit when putting a head in front with a furlong to run, continued to lead until late to narrowly miss. AARON raced in the second flight inside the winner, was keen when boxed in from the half mile marker until a quarter remained, was begging to move through an opening nearing midstretch when checked as HESS came in, altered course to the outside, regained stride and finished up willingly to be closing the gap on the top two at the wire. PATCH O'BRIEN pressed the leader from the outside, vied up front between horses into and through upper stretch, not enough in the late going. AIN'T THAT A KICK off a step slow, raced back, continued to lack speed into the far turn, enjoyed a clean trip when advancing three wide into the lane, shifted out a bit further and continued with interest to improve position. DUAL MONARCHY lacked early foot, raced in the two path through the final turn and into the stretch, displayed some mild interest to better his position slightly. LIL BRO COOP forwardly placed while racing three wide, weakened through the stretch. MIGHTY MESSAGE broke in good order, set a pressured pace toward the inside, was beginning to weaken when in traffic midstretch, continued to give way. BEN DREAMING within striking distance while four wide first turn, continued well out in the strip, four wide again in the second bend, gave way with just under three furlongs remaining. JIM NED restless gate, remained back, well beaten at the end. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REGARDING THE STRETCH RUN, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
