Footnotes
MISS HEBRIDES never far back inside, patiently handled in traffic behind the lead pack through the final turn, split the two leaders nearing midstretch, engaged the runner up and wore that one down under steady handling. NORMANDY QUEEN chased the leader through the first turn off the inside, moved to engage that from the outside after a half, dueled through the final turn and into the stretch, responded outside the winner when that one challenged with just over a furlong remaining, gave ground grudgingly while holding sway for the place. BA DEE YAH settled off the pace and just off the rail, two path into the stretch, came out for the stretch run, rallied under a firm right handed crop to be up for the show. PRETTY LAYLA broke on top, showed the way into and through the first turn in the two path, dueled inside the runner up through the second bend, weakened in the drive. CLARET BERET settled off the pace and the inside, continued three wide up the backstretch, moved a bit closer in the three path late in the final bend, failed to sustain that advance through the stretch. INSENSITIVE last away, continued to trail most of the way, steered out to be four wide into the stretch, improved position without posing a serious threat. FLASHY LASS unhurried while just off the rail early, worked way out to be four wide turning for home, lacked a closing rally. ABSINTHE moved out to be four wide through the first turn, continued well wide and was four wide again through the second bend, weakened in the stretch. WILDWOOD BYE was never a threat while racing three wide.
