BATON ROUGE back off the pace in the two path, asked along second turn, angled out a bit to be three wide into the lane, closed the gap on the two leaders inside the furlong marker in the middle of a long drive, fully extended to be up in time. AWESOME AARON took command after the start, showed the way through the first turn in the two path, rated in the run up the backstretch, moved inside for the final turn, responded when called on for the stretch run, proved stubborn to the end. W W SCOUT'S HONOR moved up and pressed the leader from the outside first turn, continued to apply some pressure up the backstretch, inched closer in the second turn, extended drive, not enough for the top two late while between them at the finish. JUST STEEL forwardly placed along the inside, moved out to the two path as the winner dropped in far turn, lacked a closing punch through the stretch. GEWURZTRAMINER off the pace and the inside early, moved inside to save some ground second turn, checked up behind a tiring rival with a quarter remaining, went evenly through the lane after recovering. UNDERHILL'S TAB lacked speed while four wide first turn, three to four wide again in the second bend, improved a bit into the lane then failed to sustain that advance the final furlong. NASTY HABIT broke well, settled off the pace while out in the strip, three wide second turn, failed to respond in the drive. MASTER GAME off a step slow, raced in mid pack, two path second turn, also lacked a closing bid. EXCITABLE BOY stumbled at the start, raced five wide into the first turn, angled in a bit for the second bend, remained back. RUNAWAY JACK broke slowly, was always outrun while three wide. ONTHESTAGE fell back to trail after the start, was never involved. SAVE THE TREES staged a steady retreat three wide.
