QUIETSIDE broke with the field, acquired good position on the outside shoulder of the early leader, prompted that one up the backstretch under a light hold, let out a notch turning for home, long, heated battle to the wire, floated out midstretch, drifted in late. SIMPLY JOKING took control just after the start and worked her way toward the inside, set a reasonable pace under restraint, responded when the winner came calling turning for home, spirted duel to the wire inside that one, drifted out past the furlong marker carrying that rival out, continued to battle on, gave ground grudgingly, finally relented late, bothered slightly in the final strides when that same rival came in, far clear of the of the others.
