Footnotes
GATESKEEPER forward and outside, three wide and into the turn in the second flight, advanced and challenged three wide turning for home, long drive to the wire, dug in late to prevail in game fashion. VITAL MIND broke alertly, set a pressured pace up the backstretch, vied through the turn closest to the inside, proved stubborn to the end in gaining part of the place. FANATICAL pressed the other runner up from the outside, battled between horses into the stretch, extended drive, also proved stubborn while finishing up between horses. FAUST broke out to bother a couple of outer rivals, asked along three wide late in the turn, slowly closing the gap on the first flight late. THIRTEEN G'S back off the pace and the inside, four wide exiting the turn, lacked a closing response in the drive. DREWVICTORY forwardly placed early along the inside, fell back through the turn, also went evenly in coming up empty for the stretch drive. TOWN HERO lacked speed, steered out three wide late in the turn, failed to muster a closing response. DRILL BABY off a step slow, raced back while well out in the strip, five wide through the turn, failed to rally. BON TEMPS floated out at the break, moved up to race in the second flight while between horses, had little for the drive. READY TO SEIZE bothered at the start to be off slowly, trailed throughout and was not a factor.
