Footnotes
COMMANDER DIXIE pressed the pace while off the inside, continued to press through the turn, took over and got clear in upper stretch, held the runner up safe in late going. LA DINAMITA forwardly placed while four wide in the run up the backstretch, came three wide for the drive, chased the winner past the furlong marker then was closing the gap on that one late. LILLY MAE raced in mid pack while off the inside early, steered out four wide turning into the stretch, made a late run down the middle of the strip to be in time for the show. MISS MAKENNA back off the pace and the inside, three wide through the turn, managed a mild late rally to improve position. NOW WE GO went one paced while racing off the inside, lacked a serious kick in the drive. COVENTINA forwardly placed and three wide for a half, began to weaken in upper stretch, continued to falter while drifting in to tighten up CLEVER CLEMINTINE causing that one to steady. MAXIE LADY broke alertly, set the early pace inside, briefly lost action into the turn, regathered to duel through most of the bend then began to fade entering the stretch. CLEVER CLEMENTINE broke out and back, lacked speed for a half, improved into the stretch off the inside, bothered by a drifting COVENTINA in midstretch then finished up evenly. PICKMEUPATMIDNIGHT dropped inside behind the first flight not long after the start, continued to save ground through the turn, had little for the drive. VICKIE'S HALO broke a step slow, remained always back. JOYFUL JOSEPHINE fell back after the start and was never a factor. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REGARDING THE RUN THROUGH MID STRETCH, COVENTINA WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM SIXTH AND PLACED EIGHTH.
