WINTER'S GHOST laid up close in the two path up the backstretch, loomed up to bid while being roused passing the quarter, took command in the three path at the top of the lane, and kicked away to be much the best. FROST ALERT showed the way along the rail turning up the backstretch, was let out a notch going by the three-eighths pole, put to a drive when challenged going by the quarter, got overtaken at the top of the stretch, then faded but held place. LITTLE STEVEN stalked in the three path, was driven into the far turn, flattened in the four path down the lane, but held show. JACKS SPRING BREAK chased in the two path, was ridden in the three path around the far turn, but made no closing bid. HOODLUM rated between foes in the three path, continued under a drive in the four path around the far turn, angled out to the seven path turning into the lane, but made no impact. RIGHT ON RIGHT ON raced in midpack from the four path, was pushed along around the far turn, but weakened from the five path in the final furlong. HOT GUNNER trailed along the rail, came under a drive in the three path passing the three-eighths pole, angled out to the seven path in upper stretch, but did not factor. EMBER tracked from the rail but gave way in the stretch. NEW YEAR SURPRISE raced off the pace in the two path, was ridden into the far turn, but never threatened. CRITICAL THREAT chased in the four path but never menaced.
