DR. SOULFIRE laid off the pace along the rail going into the turn, angled out in hand midway around the turn, ranged up in the five path passing the quarter, took aim while being roused from the six path into the lane, kicked on to bid passing the sixteenth pole, and inched ahead late. COPPER ECHO set the pace in the two path, was cued while off the rail midway around the turn, drew away in the three path at the top of the stretch, angled out to the five path while digging in to try and fend off a late charging outer rival in the final furlong, but got edged out in the final sixteenth. NAT GAS stalked inner rivals from the four path, was cued midway around the turn, and kept on in the five path down the lane for show. CREW DRAGON tracked in the two path, was pushed along inside of rivals from just off the rail around the far turn, but flattened in the stretch. SPEECHLESS pressed the pace in the three path but faded on the left lead in the four path down the lane. COLONEL CALIENTE trailed from the four to three paths and made no closing bid. BAVARIA ROAD chased in the three path but never threatened.
