Footnotes
FOUR O NINE in mid pack early, advanced three to four wide late in the turn, came five wide for the drive, kicked down the leaders under firm handling. HICKO broke well, contested the pace three wide through the turn, continued to vie stretch, caught by the winner late, narrowly gained the nod for the place. GOD'S COUNTRY behind the first flight while off the inside, ranged up to challenge four wide turning into the stretch, showed the way past the furlong marker, also failed to contain the winner while missing the nod for the second spot. TIZMARKUS set or forced the pace along the inside, not enough in the late going while continuing along the inside. MR. BUTCH back off the pace and the inside, dropped to the rail when making a mild advance through the turn, went evenly through the stretch. VINEY narrowly set the pace while between horses, faltered in the drive. PEARCY ROAD off a step slow, raced back, four wide into the lane, displayed some mild, belated interest to improve position. PERSONAL JET also off slowly, raced back, improved position by passing mostly tiring rivals without posing a serious threat. WILLY CUTS forwardly placed early just off the inside, began a steady fade before a half while remaining in the two path. ARKOMA in mid pack and three wide, tired from those early efforts. GOLDEN CITY STREET fell back to trail after the start and was never a factor three wide. COAL STONE was finished early, trailed home well back.
