SOUTHERN SPEIGHT in the second flight while between rivals, advanced and angled out to challenge four wide into the stretch, dueled through upper, shook clear a furlong out and continued to extend that advantage under steady handling. AIR CASTLE set or forced the pace while three wide, slightly larger advantage late in the turn, proved no match for the winner the final furlong, remained clear for the place. HONDURAS PASSION lacked speed, in some traffic out of the turn and in upper stretch when advancing, continued willingly to the finish to be cutting into the runner up's margin at the wire. QUEEN WILHELMINA in mid p0ack while racing outside, four to five wide turning for home, improved position in upper stretch with than momentum then flattened out a bit to go evenly the final furlong. SWEET BABY D off a step slow, moved out, four wide into the turn, fanned seven wide into the stretch, improved position while too late. LITTLE RAG DOLL broke out, was straightened to race in midpack, turned in an even effort two path. CALL DARLA broke back, raced three wide through the turn, improved position a bit without posing a serious threat. CAMPOUT within striking distance outside, four wide through the turn, tired through the lane. PALMILLA'S BET remained back in failing to threaten. SURELY THE ONE also failed to menace while three to five wide in the turn. AUNT DIXIE flashed brief early speed along the inside and gave way. MARITUDE bothered at the start, moved up to set the pace off the inside for a half, stopped through the stretch.
