SIR EXTON settled off the pace toward but not on the inside, angled out four wide when moved to challenge late in the final turn, put a head in front when straightened for home, drew clear under steady handling. WICKED MELODY closest to the leader while racing in the three path, engaged that rival in the second turn, vied between that rival and the winner into the stretch, could not match strides with the latter while wearing down the former for the place spot. BETTERA took command soon after the start, clear through the first turn two path, continued show the way up the backstretch off the rail, responded when the runner up came calling second turn, vied into the lane inside the top two, proved stubborn for the runner up position. RIVETAGE dwelt at the start to spot the field a couple of lengths, remained back, asked along the two path midway on the final turn, cut the corner to improve inside of several rivals entering the stretch, went flat the final furlong while angling out a bit. HIGGINSVILLE off a step slow, lacked speed toward the inside first turn, moved out and was four wide through the second bend, made little impact through the stretch. MONEYSHOT settled off the pace out in the strip, a bit keen when four wide into the far turn, fanned six wide into the stretch, also lacked a closing kick. TEN DAYS LATER within striking distance three path, floated out five wide and between horses turning for home, backed up through the stretch.
