CLAMPETT stalked up close from inside, followed behind the leader through the turn, roused when gaining an opening into the stretch, quickly took over and cleared with a furlong remaining while asked right handed, then remained strong to the wire under flagging from the crop. COWBOY MIKE stalked CODE DUELLO from outside, roused two wide on the turn, challenged three deep at the top of the lane but was outkicked by the winner in the final furlong. CODE DUELLO set the pace up the backstretch, led along the rail through the turn, moved off the fence a bit entering the lane which gave CLAMPETT a clear path to challenge, yielded to that rival in upper stretch, weakened in the late stages but managed to save third. SAQEEL bobbled leaving the gate, trailed up the backstretch, took the turn three wide and never threatened.
