P TWENTYTWO away quickest to take the lead, set the pace under pressure then cleared past the half-mile pole, challenged briefly by HIGHLAND ECHO at the three-eighths pole but shook that rival off quickly, spurted away when asked left then right handed in upper stretch and coasted in the last sixteenth. CAPTAIN WILLIS tracked from inside, shifted to the two path early on the turn, moved back inside but got shuffled back behind JEFFREY ON THE RUN, tipped back to the two path with a quarter mile remaining, moved out in the drive, summoned a mild rally and got up for second. CAVIAR COWBOY brushed leaving the gate, raced well off the rail off the pace, gained five then four deep on the turn, was unable to threaten the winner in the lane but churned on through the final furlong and lost second. HIGHLAND ECHO raced up close on the inside, challenged along the rail early on the turn but started to climb briefly and lost touch with the leader, chased from the fence to the stretch and flattened to fourth. YOUR SWEET BABY coaxed along chasing off the inside, went two to three wide around the turn, lost his path in upper stretch and weakened. SHAKE THE DUST raced in range outside rivals, rounded the bend four then three deep and weakened. UNUSUAL MEMORIES brushed leaving the gate, trailed three wide into the turn, moved out in the drive and made no impact. JEFFREY ON THE RUN broke out, pressed from outside then chased the pacesetter past the half-mile pole, exited the backstretch in the three path, weakened while angling to the rail on the turn and tired in the drive. WALK THE CAT fractious in the gate, raced widest of the field while out of range, spun six wide into the lane and was never a factor.
