Footnotes
OLD PAL tracked two wide out of range early, drew closer between foes in the middle stages, spun three wide into the stretch, drew alongside the top pair in deep stretch and proved best late. COALINGA ROAD reserved three deep early, went three then two wide around the first turn, traveled along the rail then two wide on the second bend, swung out into the stretch, closed well and got up for second. ON THE WHIM pulled two wide early then settled in a stalking position outside a rival, drew alongside the top pair near the half-mile pole, vied three deep and took a short lead around the second bend, dueled outside FAST BUCK in the lane, led into the final sixteenth but got overtaken by the top pair in the end. ALIGATO raced between foes then outside a rival at the back, trailed two wide into the stretch, closed well down the lane and rounded out the superfecta. FAST BUCK led early before ceding command on the clubhouse turn, applied pressure from outside at the half-mile pole, vied between rivals around the second bend, dueled from inside down the lane and flattened late. BARELY FUNTIONAL sat off the pace two wide then near the rail, gained two on the far turn then three wide late on the bend, angled out into the stretch and finished willingly to improve position. NONE ABOVE THE LAW settled inside off the pace, moved into range on the far turn, roused in upper stretch, kept trying through the final furlong but needed to find more. JIMMY BLUE JEANS stalked from inside, waited behind the leaders along the rail then in the two path on the far turn, asked in upper stretch but flattened out. WE CAN settled three deep opening stages, drew closer three then four wide on the far turn, got crowded a bit by inner rival at the eighth pole and weakened. KEEP MOVIN' ON tucked inside at the back, raced towards the rear into the far turn, chased two wide around the bend, angled out approaching the stretch and failed to menace. TAKES THREE pressed from outside early then took approaching the clubhouse turn, cleared inner rival around that bend, took pressure at the half-mile pole, vied with a pair of rivals around the far turn and relinquished the lead at the quarter pole, then gave way in the final furlong.
