SCHWARZMEIER stalked along the inside, had to take hold briefly running up on the leader approaching the half-mile pole, altered out and bumped rival at the five-sixteenths pole, angled out but got hemmed in upper stretch, dove down to the inside and put in a rail bid to take over at the sixteenth pole and surged clear. TRAVELIN' SHOW stalked three deep to the turn, got brushed and moved out four wide at the five-sixteenths pole, rallied outside the top pair, fought four deep into the final sixteenth and gained second. OSCAR JOY had to steady off heels early then moved inside, had to pause again when running up behind a rival on the bend, angled out and came four wide into the lane, finished well under left handed urging and got up for third. BOLT SUPREMACY vied for the lead three deep to the turn, bumped with inner rival at the five-sixteenths pole, dueled outside HANDSOME TICKET to the stretch, fought three deep into deep stretch and got outkicked by the top trio. NAFTIS trailed two wide into the turn, angled out and spun five wide into the lane, closed well from outside but was not enough. HANDSOME TICKET vied between rivals to the turn, bumped on both sides at the five-sixteenths pole, dueled inside BOLT SUPREMACY past the quarter pole, inched ahead into the stretch, battled to midstretch, then lost command at the sixteenth pole and flattened late. BRUCKNER stalked the top trio between rivals, got bumped by inner rival at the five-sixteenths pole and moved to the three path, was crowded by same inner rival turning for home and weakened in the drive. SIR MAXIMUS fought for the lead inside a pair of rivals to the turn, bumped with HANDSOME TICKET twice at the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back after on the turn and faded in the lane. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT BETWEEN SIR MAXIMUS, HANDSOME TICKET AND BOLT SUPREMACY ON THE TURN. THE RIDER ABOARD SIR MAXIMUS ALSO LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST BOLT SUPREMACY FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE AT THE FIVE-SIXTEENTHS POLE AND. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED IN A UNANIMOUS DECISION THAT THE CONTACT BETWEEN HANDSOME TICKET AND SIR MAXIMUS WAS MUTUEL AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
