DEFIANCE tracked out of range up the backstretch, went three wide into the turn, angled to the rail then tipped two wide past the quarter pole, rallied between rivals midstretch and drove past NAFISA in the final sixteenth. NAFISA stalked the pace outside a rival, was closest in pursuit in the two path turning for home, drew alongside the leader near the eighth pole, took over midstretch but could not fend off the winner late. WAY TOO SEXY brushed the gate to lose a step at the start, raced in range from inside then two wide leaving the backstretch, crept closer around the bend and took aim three wide into the stretch, bid four deep past the eighth pole but got outkicked by the top pair. TAHITI ITI traveled near the back in the early going then trailed outside a rival into the turn, angled out into the stretch and finished well. GIRVIN GAL stalked from inside, hugged the rail to the stretch, lacked room behind the leaders at the eighth pole and finished willingly through deep stretch. CYPRUS MOON brushed from behind at the start, sped clear and moved inside, confronted by NAFISA in upper stretch, relinquished the lead past the eighth pole and folded in the last sixteenth. WISHFUL WINKER broke slow and brushed CYPRUS MOON, angled in trailing early then went inside a rival leaving the backstretch, stayed on the fence around the bend and was never a factor.
