VLAHOS prompted the pace from outside, kept the pressure on MBAGNICK (CHI) four then three wide around the turn, took over under right handed encouragement midstretch and drew clear late. MBAGNICK (CHI) took control quickly and showed the way under pressure from VLAHOS to the outside up the backstretch, maintained a short lead three then two wide around the bend, resisted to the eighth pole, then lost command midstretch and stayed on for a clear second. HAMWOOD FLIER (IRE) chased the top pair from outside, went five wide into the bend, faded while angling to the inside around the turn, eased in the stretch and walked off.
