Footnotes
EL REY REY dueled from inside early then ceded command to OOBUBBAKAKAYO, stalked along the rail to the far turn, was lightly coaxed while waiting for an opening to present itself late on the far turn, roused and tipped out at the top of the lane, took over past the sixteenth pole and held safely over NAVAJO WARRIOR approaching the wire. NAVAJO WARRIOR traveled towards the back outside a rival, remained two wide to the far turn, gained while angling four wide around the bend, moved out further and finished well to get up for second. DEALERS SPECIAL stalked in the two path then outside a rival, latched onto the leader at the quarter pole, took over in upper stretch and led clear into the final furlong but got outkicked by the top pair in deep stretch. BAD TO THE BONES got bumped leaving the gate, tracked two wide between rivals on both turns, moved out in the lane and took aim with a furlong remaining, chased within striking range in the late stages but could not summon the needed late kick. HURRICANE WAY laid off the pace on the inside, steered to the three path on the far turn, finished willingly down the lane but ran into traffic late. BRAVE BLEND raced in range from the three path early, coaxed along outside a pair of rivals on the second bend and finished evenly between foes late. SPEARFISH broke in and bumped rival, reserved to the inside near the back then moved into the two path, trailed on the fence then two wide leaving that bend, showed a mild rally between rivals but needed to find more late. MONGOLIAN ALTAI got bumped and pinched back at the start, angled to the rail racing at the back, moved to the two path around the first turn, angled out on the far turn, came four wide into the lane and failed to threaten. BIG JUANITO raced in range from inside, saved ground to the stretch, lacked room in the lane and had to steady at the sixteenth pole and could not regain momentum. OOBUBBAKAKAYO dueled from outside first time through the stretch, cleared inner rival around the clubhouse turn, showed the way unpressured up the backstretch, confronted by a rival with a quarter mile left to run, lost command in upper stretch and weakened.
