BELMONT BILL vied for the lead with a pair of rivals to the outside into the first turn, cleared around the bend, opened up on the backstretch, held a comfortable lead along the inside turning for home and remained unchallenged under right handed encouragement and strong handling. ANDREADYTORUMBLE off slow to begin, unhurried in the two path, angled out and came five wide into the stretch, closed well from the middle portion of the track then drifted in a bit and edged ONE TIME MARK for second. ONE TIME MARK vied between foes into the first turn then ceded command and took a stalking position in the two path, chased three deep into the far turn, exited that bend two wide, finished evenly late and lost second at the wire. KHANTARO D'ORO settled along the inside, ridden along into the far turn going inside a rival, got put in tight and checked past the three-eighths pole, recovered from the incident and kept on from the rail to the stretch but flattened out in the late stages. TALLIS sat off the pace from the inside, went two the three wide around the far turn, chased between foes entering the lane and failed to threaten. CUPID'S CRUSADER raced keenly in the early going in the two path, chased four deep into the far turn, remained four wide to the stretch and lacked the needed response. SMOOTH SALUTE bumped MIGHTY KAI early, traveled in the two path towards the rear, angled four wide around the far turn and could not rally. MIGHTY KAI got bumped back shortly after the start, moved inside racing near the back, hugged the rail to the stretch and could not make an impact. HOT LEGS ROMOLO vied for the lead three deep then ceded command and moved into the two path stalking the pacesetter, chased between foes on the far turn in the two path and faded down the lane. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE INCIDENT BETWEEN ONE TIME MARK, HOT LEGS ROMOLO AND KHANTARO D'ORO ON THE FAR TURN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQULAFICATION AND NO CHANGE WOULD BE MADE.
