PHOSPHORESCENCE (FR) stalked the pace from the rail, saved ground through the far turn, tipped out and launched a bid in upper stretch but lacked room between rivals at the eighth pole, altered to the inside, re-bid with a sixteenth remaining and got up at the wire. BRITISH ISLES rated in the two path, came under a ride and tipped three wide on the far turn, drew alongside MOONLIT SONATA and battled head to head in the final furlong, put a nose in front briefly late but was edged by the winner in the final moments. MOONLIT SONATA bumped leaving the gate, stepped to the front and controlled the pace on the inside, took pressure on the backstretch, maintained a short lead through the far turn, fought with BRITISH ISLES through the lane, then between rivals late and was overtaken in the closing moments. BLAMETHEGOODTIMES sat off the pace outside a rival, chased two wide through the far turn, steered out in the lane and finished willingly to round out the superfecta. ZALAMO (FR) tracked from inside out of range, saved ground to the stretch, remained inside but could not produce a bid. NITTI (IRE) hopped slightly at the start then got bothered by outer rival shortly after, trailed two wide early, moved into the three path around the far turn, tipped out in the lane and offered a mild response to improve position. ESCAPE ARTIST traveled two wide near the back of the pack, asked right handed past the quarter pole, kept on between rivals down the stretch but needed to find more. FREEPORT JOE was rank in the early going while dropping off the pace, went two wide around both turns, moved out in the lane and also needed to find more. COALINGA ROAD unhurried in the opening stages along the inside, saved ground through both turns, tipped out then altered back inside in upper stretch and could not rally. CALM SEA broke in to bother a rival, raced up close off the rail, pressed from outside on the backstretch, lost touch with the leader at the three-sixteenths pole and weakened in the furlong grounds. INVIGORATED traveled along the inside at the back, trailed into the lane, moved out in the drive and was never a factor. TAKES THREE bothered by CALM SEA at the start, saved ground off the pace, move out a bit in the lane and weakened.
