DEALERS SPECIAL was closest in pursuit from inside in the early going, closed in on the backstretch, bid two wide on the far turn, took over and put SIR MAXIMUS away in upper stretch, then drew off under hand urging. SIX MAGPIES (IRE) sat well off the pace on the inside, moved closer outside a rival in the middle stages, took aim two wide approaching the stretch, was no match for the winner in the final furlong but was clearly second best. SMOOTH SALUTE tracked in the two path then dropped to mid-pack around the first turn, moved into range leaving the backstretch, loomed three wide turning for home but flattened out in the lane. SIR MAXIMUS broke alertly while shifting out at the start, opened up in the early stages along the inside, held a diminished lead approaching the far turn, took pressure past the three-eighths pole, resisted through the bend, then yielded to the winner in upper stretch and folded in the furlong grounds. BATTLE CRUISER broke out, moved inside and settle in mid-pack, crept closer up the backstretch, ridden along the fence on the far turn and faltered in the stretch run. ANDREADYTORUMBLE was fractious in the gate, backed out, was evaluated and reloaded, raced on the inside near the back, went two then three wide around the far turn and tired down the lane. DAZZLE THE COMMAND threw his head and came away slow, trailed in the two path around the first turn, stayed off the rail to the stretch and never made an impact.
